I love my Patagonia tights too.  I e-mailed.  Haven't heard back yet. 
 They had great fleece lined winter riding tights too.  I got lucky and 
got the last 3 pairs of those in my size at the outlet in Montana 
several years ago for $20 each after they were discontinued!!!  Haven't 
tried it, but the Saddle Bums tights or cowboy underwear might work well 
under jeans.  They are a thinner tight, so it wouldn't add too much bulk 
and has lots of padding.
