exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage

I have a 7 year old mare that I have been riding for 2 1/2 years,
competing very well in competitive trail, and was hoping to start limited
distance endurance this winter.  Over the summer, she had a severe problem
with allergic bronchitis, and since then has had 3 episodes of scant blood
tinged mucus after training rides.  She's also had multiple rides with no
problem. The vet came out and scoped her after exercise and didn't see
anything.  I'm hoping someone who reads this will have some experience
with this problem and help me out.  The vet has been very attentive, but I
don't think he has much experience with this problem.  He's suggesting
allergy shots.  Any one?
