For waterproof, I would recommend the Bucca (?).  I used it
this spring during an all day rain.  When it came time to
load, my horse was dry underneath which was quite the feat
considering he was soaking wet when it was put on 4 hours
earlier.  It is a little pricey...about $170.  Has a nice
thin polar fleece lining.  Now if they would just make them
with a longer neck to provide even more protection, I would
be thrilled.  It always works great for cooling off in cold
conditions.  Albeit, MN is a little colder than AZ :-)
