Ulcer Relief
Angela Dobb lmsbossy@aol.com
When my mare got stomach ulcers last year she was treated with Antepsin.
This also goes under the name of Sulcrate, Sulcralfate, and
novo-sucralfate. She was given the tablets three times a day at VERY
regular intervals. The tablets were dissolved in water and administered
with a syringe. These tablets are available all over the woprld and are
(allegedly) very cheap. She took them for about six weeks.
They must taste OK as she took the syringes willingly. During the time
she was a NO grain diet, just chaff and alfalfa and hay.
After a time sugarbeet was added to her feed, but only after the ulcers
had gone. She is in work, has moved yards, she is on hard feed, has
recently had antibiotics and 'bute and luckily, the ulcers haven't
returned. Hers were due to the stress of being hospitalised and being on
massive amounts of drugs for a couple of weeks.
HTH,
Angela Dobb
