Yes they did, Debbie, and I agree - if this is too traumatic for you, perhaps
a showring career - although some really nasty things happen there ON
PURPOSE:)! Been there, seen that!  But truly, there are some sports, just as
there are some jobs that are not suitable for the faint of heart or the slow
to react or even for those who cannot or will not plan for their own care,
and then have to find fault elsewhere. EGADS people, what an expression of
comradeship and caring and quick action we saw this weekend. That in itself
was something to praise. Instead of looking at the events as if someone were
deliberately being inhumane, let's see where we can CONTINUE to improve the
workings of our sport to prevent these things - and THAT is education, people
not finger pointing and criticism. I for one am proud of the way people
jumped in where needed. As an aside, if you weren't there, don't mouth off -
it is hurtful to the people who were there, and mainly to those whose horses
were involved. As Thumper's Mom said. "Thumper, if you can't say anything
nice....."
