Fw: RE: Arabs to slaughter add training!

Title: RE: Arabs to slaughter
Look at post regarding rescue and training.  Great idea!  I work 7 x  52 weeks with kennel and dogs.  But am soooo intriged by this thought.  Only have 14 acres in Francis Marion Forest and it would take Years to get set up.  But I know others out there could be doing this!!!!
Even if We can't do it, we could help spread the word and work up client base for these folks...
We could All Be a Part of this project...Would love to pick someones brain who has intimate knowledge of Arabian and Lippizan rescue during WWI and WWII.  Inspiration!!!

And the worst thing about it is that some of these horses are NOT worthless.... but nicely pedigreed stock with sweet personalities.  Just too many of them around here in California.

Hello Kathy,
I would not consider looking for your new best friend as being "off base".  I really hate to think of all those wonderful sweet loyal horses waiting for their demise...thinking 'mom' or 'pop' are coming back to get them...wonder how these people treat their children?  No wonder we have so much crime.
I too am not laughing either.  Some of them are pretty worthless. but who made them that way? Us humans, thru bad breeding, bad environment, bad upbringing.
I do not go to these facilities...Too much temptations to pull out my Ruger 357 and do these "owners" in:))
Good Riding!

At first I was depressed and disgusted about all this talk about slaughterhouses.  Then I started to think about it.  The fact that Skip rescued Red from a slaughterhouse and Red won at Pan Ams has brought a little more attention to the subject.  Hopefully this would help to save more lives and bring more attention to appropriate breeding and marketing strategies.

I used to laugh about people scouring slaughterhouses for their next “big winner”- but now I’m not laughing as much.  Even if the motivations may be a little off-base, at least there’s a chance for a rescue.
