I like to carry a can of ALPO with me when I ride.  If the horse acts up, you 
can always show it the can as if to say, "This could be you."  If all else 
fails you can always throw the can at the horse.  : )  I'm kidding.  You 
could ruin a perfectly good can of dog food that way.  TIC.
