Re: laminitis?



Interestingly enough, I had a mare go through a similar experience this
fall.
She was in a paddock eating just mixed grass hay. No grain, no alfalfa, no
pasture.
Suddenly one morning she was stocked up in all four legs and typical
laminitis stance. There was slight heat in her front feet. She was in a lot
of pain and not able to move with out great difficulty.She was treated with
bute. It all resolved in about 3 days and later exams revealed no rotation
or permanent damage.
I am still totally baffled as to what happened and why. My vet had no
explanation.
I would love to hear others thoughts on this.
