Re: A better fly trap

>HAS ANYONE TRIED THE *EPPS BITING FLY TRAP* BY FARNAM?<

Haven't tried that one but I have been using one I purchased this spring
from Peaceful Valley Farm Supply ( www.groworganic.com ) with amazing
success. It is a very simple design and once you see it, you can build as
many as you like very easily. But it is so much fun watching hundreds....no
thousands of trapped flies buzzing around until they drop to the sides and
pile up so thick that the trap must be emptied, that I don't even mind that
I paid $50 for such a very simple design. The bait that comes with it is
also very simple and natural.($10.95 for a 3 month supply). Yeast mixed with
water in a gallon jar and allowed to sit for three days. Then add some
Ammonuium Carbonate (included with the bait purchase) and you are ready for
the "fly show". Place a little of the stinky yeast culture in the aluminum
pie pan (also supplied), place the trap over it, (I place mine on the ground
in direct sun right next to the manure pile). Best $75 I have spent in a
long time.
