Re: RC: Malibu Ride And Trail Incident

Remember folks, a ride manager cannot deny entry on the basis of rumor &
hearsay. That has already been successfully protested in the past.
Letting off steam on ridecamp may get the ball rolling, but it will have no
legal basis, even in an AERC protest. All actual witnesses to these
incidents need to document as many details as they can in writing, soon
after the event, and have the statements notorized. Copies need to be sent
to the ride managers whose rides this rider may attend, with the assurance
you will be willing to support them in case of a protest. Then, these ride
managers may include in all written ride info that riders endangering the
safety of others will be DQ'd. Should another incident arise, the RM will
have the prior actions statements to fall back on.
It wouldn't hurt to also discuss this with your regional directors, and see
if they would be willing to contact this person & have a chat.
