Riding sneakers suggestions?

I think I want to try a pair of riding sneakers.  I am
currently riding in Ariats, but they have failed to break in
comfortably, even after 6 months!  I got the zippered kind,
and still can't zip them all the way up without them killing
my ankles.

Nice soft sneakers sound much better.

Recommendations, anyone?
