I bought a used Orthoflex Patriot SS, too. It is the only non-dressage saddle I have ever had which fits my mare. The poor sweetie has done 3000 miles in poorly filling saddles. She has a huge wither, both tall and wide. And her scapula makes a long backward rotation. I took her on some sever downhills and the OF did not hurt her at all. I like the Patriot fit on me also, except for the pommel. It is too high and when I mount from an awkward spot or go up steep hills it bruises my ribs. I'm trying to figure out a way to cut the pommel down so it won't be in the way. Ideas, anyone?
