I have about 50 miles on mine (both hind feet) including the Blue
Mountain Trot CTR last weekend, and haven't lost one yet.  They really
seem to stay on pretty well.  I just stick 'em on.  No foam, vetrap,
nothing.  They are alot easier to deal with then I thought they'd be!
