Overhead Tie systems - results!

Well, I found 4 different overhead tie systems:

1. Tralor-Tie ($210)
www.tralortie.com
2. Sky-Hook Tether ($280)
http://www.powernet.net/~equineinnov/skyhook.html
3. Spring-Tie ($295)
www.springtie.com
4. EZ-Hitch (made by Robert Walz, the same guy that made EZ-ride stirrups)
($190)
http://www.equineperformanceproducts.com/tiez.htm

From the responses I recieved (and they're still trickling in), 6 people use and
really like the Tralor-Tie system. I spoke to Steve Elliot, the president of
Equine Innovations who markets the EZ-Hitch and found that it is very similar to
the Tralor-Tie. The materials the EZ-Hitch uses seems to be a little sturdier
than the Tralor-Tie and less likely to snap.. although the EZ-Hitch arm doesn't
appear to extend out as much and give as much horsey movement as the Tralor-Tie.
Another plus for the Tralor-Tie: height deficient people, such as me, can set
up the system easily.. the Sky-Hook and Spring-Tie systems (from what I
understand, correct me if I'm wrong) require you to reach up there and hook up
doohickys and things in place.

One ridecamper responded that said she liked her Sky-Hook Tether system better
than the Tralor-Tie. She liked the sturdiness of the Sky-Hook better and
related an experience she had with her rambunctious 2-year old. :) She said the
Tralor-Tie would've most likely snapped with the field testing her horse did.
This system would probably be recommended for difficult tie'rs and youngsters
from what I've heard..

No one responded who had the Spring-Tie system. Too expensive for my blood..

With all this in mind, I'm going to go ahead and order 2 Tralor-Tie systems.
Both our horses tie well.. Can't beat the positive feedback it's gotten from
all you guys out there.. thanks ridecamp!! I'd be interested in trying out the
EZ Hitch.. but if the Tralor-Tie has been tried and true, I'll spend the extra
$40. :)
