Riding Ring

The size of the ring as well as the shape depend to some degree on what you
will be using it for. Normally an arena twice as long as it is wide, (for
example 80 X 150 - 160) is what works best, could be rectangular, could be
oval. Anything less than 60' wide is very narrow (makes for harrowing
corners at speed). There is an excellent paperback book called " The Equine
Arena Handbook (developing a user-friendly facility) by a robert Malmgren put
out by Alpine Publications of Loveland, Co. 80537 :) Donna Snyder-Smith
