It all depends on the foot and the horse.  For example, I don't vetwrap 
Rocky if I am shoving a size 0 on his front feet (there is no room).  If I 
am using 1's, I will put a round or two of vetwrap on the deformed foot, 
but not the club foot.  My other horse takes a 2 boot and I don't vetwrap 
him unless he was just shod.  Instead of vetwrap I put two or three layers 
of duct tape over the metal teeth to protect the hoof wall from any 
scratches.
