I THINK you are referring to a Global Positioning System Receiver or
GPS. The best one is the GARMIN GPSIII+...they are easier to use
because them have an imbedded map and you can download topographic maps
to them. They are about $370. You can buy them at any large sports
store like Sports Authority or REI. You can also order them online at
rei.com. Garmin's website is garmin.com.
GPS Receiver's are EXTREMELY accurate...within feet. However, if you
are using them to track mileage, keep in mind they must be able to track
three birds (satellites) at all times. If you ride through canyons,
deep ravines, deep forest, etc. your accuracy may suffer a little.
