I'm going to have to disagree -- if he is lame in the front end (which I
think he probably is, considering it's a very bad head nod), it's going to
be the RIGHT front.  Remember, he's going to want to take weight/impact off
of his sore leg or shoulder, so head usually comes UP, on the lame side.  
But. . . can't imagine being able to diagnose where the pain is coming
from, without seeing the horse, and seeing how he is moving, (and even
then, sometimes you need to look much further in order to make a
diagnosis).   Of course, people with more experience, can probably make a
fairly educated guess. . .
