how do I join the AERC? and if I don't get that card back in time, can I

You don't have to be an AERC member to ride, but you will be required to pay
a "day-member" (basically a non-member fee) fee of $10. To join AERC, ask
your regional director for an application. Or call AERC at 530-823-2260 or
e-mail at aerc@foothill.net and ask for an application. You can join and pay
via a credit card; ask the office for some sort of verification that you have
joined and you should be able to show it at the ride. You could also use the
fax 530-823-7805, or (I understand) there is an application on www.aerc.org

Hope this helps.

West region director
