Difference between LD and other distances

Should not LD and it's difference from 50 and 100 be classed as the difference
between the Junior Novice to Training to Young Riders and so on in the jumping
world. As with those the horse that does a 25 work just a hard to achieve that
distance as a horse works to do the 50 or the 100 distances? There are a lot
of folks that will never do 50 much less 100 miles and stick with 25 mile rides
just for the ride. They are not that wildly competitive you know, just want to
take in the scenery. Shame that 25 miles doesn't count toward their career
mileage for the horse.
