Horse going off feed after a ride.

Ranger has a history of going a bit off feed Monday or Tuesday after a ride.
It almost is like a very mild colic. Earlier this year while watching him
graze after not eating his grain on a Monday evening I commented to Wendy
that he had acted very hungry all Sunday while she rode. This started a
train of thought about what was different between Sunday and Monday. I
realized that on Sunday I had been still supplementing him with 'lytes, but
had stopped as soon as I got home.

For the next 3 rides I have continued his 'lytes 2 times a day until Tuesday
evening. He has not gone off feed at all and acts very hungry! Yes I know
that this is a one rat experiment, and I have not tried (nor will I)
withholding again 'lytes after a ride, but I thought that if anyone else has
a similar problem they might try supplementing 'lytes for a few days after a
ride. It can't hurt.
