The only time my arm was in a cast, I was about 11 years old.  It was Summer
and we were all playing cricket in the front garden.  I was really pissed
that I wasn't allowed to bat "because my arm was in a cast".


Easy peasy : into the kitchen and hacked the thing off with a knife - it had
only been on 4 weeks and was supposed to stay on 6.  Boy, was my mom mad!

Unlike endurance riders, who of course are perfectly sane.   When I tore
the ligament in my ankle, I nearly drove the nurse putting on the cast
nuts making sure my foot was at a good angle for riding.
