RE: Standardbreds in endurance

Wasn't there a gentleman, years ago, out west, one of the early Tevis
winners and well known endurance rider, that started an Arab/Standarbred
crossbreeding program. Seems to me I read about him years ago in Western
Horseman magazine. Can't recall a name. Anyone know who I'm talking about???

Subject: RC: Standardbreds in endurance

As mentioned by Sue Brown, I usually lurk on RC and spend most of my summer
waking hours either riding my beloved Standardbred mare Story or trying to
survive the antics of "Billy and Blaze" (not to be confused with "Beavis
and Butthead" although the resemblance is striking at times).

However I'm currently thinking of a winter project: assembling an article
or two about STBs in endurance. If anyone would like to share stories,
anecdotes, statistics, photos or WHATEVER about their own STBs, part STBs,
or STBs they have known, I'd love to be an audience. Please send off-list,
and I'll copy to anyone interested!
