loverly find!

I actually had a day off today and boy was i not just chomping at the bit to
go i was actually frothing!!!
I started out at a great little walk. Thunder rolling in the distance wasn't
gonna scare me away! however it just electrified my enthusiasm!
Ansata was going great a few spooks but I just rode them through. We still
have a trust issue to deal with, time will take care of that.
Had a run in with the neighbors new Donkey!! oh and a Quarter/Walking Horse
Stallion that some redneck Know it all has.. I wanted to smack him, he
offered me a Free test breeding. I said "I breed Quality not quantity!"
Enough of that,I really wanted to smack him for not gelding the thing. I
wasn't going to let that spoil my ride. But I am not happy about having a
"stallion" 200 yards from my mares in a small pasture held by a single wire.
We clipped on out of there. We had a few boogers the hole that we pass where
they are filling in has gotten smaller. There is lots of crap there! We saw
two beautiful does!! I had to yell to get them to move on to keep from
scaring Ansata! She is a weenie! we found the new pond they have dug. It
has been really dry there wasn't any water in it. We found a new trail today
that goes way back to a lake!!!! We has to cross over fence that was down.
I made sure she stepped over it!! we had to go into the creek bed that was
dry and it has solid footing! I was happy about that. We rode quite a ways
and found a trail that had not been taken in some time. I could see the
water sparkling from a distance. We rode and found the lake. Ansata was
rather intimidated by a large sparkling booger, I didn't push her further
but turned around and went back to the main trail We rode further and found
an old barn that had fallen in. That was kind of neat then we found an older
barn that was still standing. I decided to scoot on and head to the house.
We found yet a few more trails on a loop that I was certain that went back
to the creek. Sure enough we headed back to the creek. She did so wonderful
But there was lots of new boogers!! I am getting used to the sudden
sidesteps and quick halts. I am still spookey about going at a canter for
some time. So we canter here and there where I am familiar with the trail.
Man what a stride on this girl!! I was just so happy to be off and riding!!!
I can hardly wait to begin training!! I have lots of trails and terrain to
ride!! I feel so LUCKY! I gave Ansata a good rinsing that she happily
enjoyed while she munched grass while Mom squirted the water on her to cool
her out!
Haley was most upset that Ansata left her!! Was really sweaty! So I fed her
a crumb or two!! The fat little cow!!
farrier comes tomorrow!! I am pretty sure I am gonna like this one I grilled
him pretty hard!! He said I should have prepared for the test. I said well
if you are as good as you and everybody says you shouldn't have to worry. He
passed my verbal exam, Now if he passes my hands on and of course he has to
pass the booty exam ;o)
Carla (cloud nine)
