HORSE TRIPPING

My husband's horse is tripping constantly. He has fallen down going
at a good clip at the trot, at the walk with no one on him, he trips, 
going up hill, down hill, it's scary. Our farrier is going to try 
new shoes. He also said he had read something about having his 
tearducks flushed out. 
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I kinda like my husband 
and would like to keep him around.
