This is where you and I differ. I think you are looking too far back.  That's 
like looking back at my family tree to the beginning and discovering I came 
from Cro-Magnan man or Neanderthal (actually I show signs of being a cross 
bred of both).

Going back any more than 300 years is a waste of time.  Of course we all came 
from the same well originally.  Horses and people.  

A breed is a group of animals that as a result of selective breeding has 
certain distinguishable characteristics which are passed on through 
successive generations.

I wish I had more Arab in my Saddlebred, but it's not there.  If it was I 
don't think it would be so tough for him to finish a 50.
