Re: Fibrosis Myopathy?

My understanding is that fibrosis myopathy is initially caused by tearing of
individual muscle fibers (most common in sudden-stop events like reining or
cutting), after which the body fills in the injured area with calcified
tissue, similar to scar tissue. Since it's part of a healing mechanism to
an injury, it's not progressive per se---but since the injured muscle fibers
are less functional, the remaining fibers are having to carry an additional
workload and therefore are more prone to injury themselves.
