Re: Diatomaceous earth

DE as it is called is wonderful stuff----go to www.dirtdoctor.com for more
information. It is a natural substance, ancient rocks made of tiny little
crustacean bodies, ground up for use. it is an excellent feed additive for
cats, dogs, horses, cows, etc., people. The way it kills fire ants (yes,
it works) fleas, etc, is that it is abrasive to something so small and cuts
their little exoskeletons and they dehydrate. I sprinkle it right in the
horse's feed containers---keeps the fire ants at bay---sprinkle it where the
fire ants go, sprinkle it on the dogs to keep down the fleas. It helps
worm horses and keeps down fly eggs in the manure---all while being an
excellent feed additive. It can be added to water and sprayed on the lawn
to control bugs---it won't work until it dries out but the water is a good
carrier for it. If you are able to get WBAP Radio Station, 820 AM, on
Sunday mornings, the Dirt Doctor has a talk show and DE is often discussed.
Also, the Dirt Doctor has a "manure tea" concoction that kills mounds
of fire ants---100% natural ingredients. If you can't reach his radio
show---you can ask him by email on his web site--if you don't find the
answer among his many postings. Good Luck. Claudia
