I think it's a cool scene, too, even if it isn't a particularly good display 
of how a horse should go downhill.  The actor rode his own scene, and stayed 
true to the poem about the ride, in that he rode the horse to the bottom on a 
loose rein.  I forget how many times they had to film it to get that detail 
right, but he was determined to do it, and finally did.
