Cats

Cats on the trail or On the trail with cats . . . either way have any of you
considered taking along some pepper spray or other such type spray?
How many horses do you know that tolerate gun shots? I know my big guy
would dump me quick and leave me to deal with this 'monster' on my own if I
fired a gun while on board.
My husband and I live, hike, run and ride in cougar country and have never
felt threatened by them. That doesn't mean we don't think they aren't
watching us. To anyone who is worried about cougars I truly suggest
carrying a can of deterrent spray. It clips right on your waste band or
pack.
Then when you encounter a cat, act BIG and spray. After all, that's what
skunks do and you can bet animals turn away from their spray.
Just a thought.
