Re: Fw: the perfect endurance horse

My Bobby had (note "had") a beautiful thick, wavy black mane. But last summer, I roached it all off except for a little "grab handle" at the base of his neck. Summer is so hot and humid, that he rubs it, and he is more comfy without it. It has been growning back over winter, but I'll be shaving it off again.
I miss his mane more than he does, I think.

Horse kids Kit, Bobby & Dani (who all escaped Easter Sunday, punched up the new seeding, and took a couple laps around the house and barn, before heading up to the neighbors to say hello).
Strangely, not one of them seemed to have too much energy the next day, when I wanted to ride:>

so true..but unfortunately, over the years, I've missed it plenty!!!!!!I
Ive fallen off of him so many times over the years I don't want to remember...good thing though is he's short so the landings weren't so bad...so maybe I will add to the qualifications for the perfect endurance horse... not only  a fairy tale mane a but also low to the ground

Sounds perfectly logical - that's what I did.  But see, there IS some logic there - if the horse takes off on you, it's hard to miss the mane when you're trying to find something to hold on to!

Actually---I'll tell you what works really really well for picking the ideal endurance horse............THE MANE......yep...that's how I picked my first endurance horse(after my mule)...he had the most beautiful mane I'd ever seen..didn't matter that he was completely out of control...fire pouring out of his nostrils..nope...I had to have him because of the mane!  So I bought him on the spot...he has over 4,000 miles now...and every single one of them was like riding a fast-forward carnival ride!!!!!!! He's been great..So forget all or these other posts...just go buy the horse with the most beautiful mane:>))))))
