RE: *Special Alert*

If we vote "YES" to ban ORV's from national parks because they do irreparable damage to the environment.
Horses can and do cause irreparable damage to the environment.

The answer is not to ban anything or anyone but to manage the trails and maintain the trails for all users.

I agree ORV's probably can do more harm and are obnoxious, but so are horses to some people.
Unfortunately for horses, there are a majority of hikers and bikers who feel that horses should also be banned for the same reasons that we feel ORV's should be banned.

This is just my humble opinion!

> USA Today Weekend is hosting the poll, asking folks if ORVs should be banned from the National Park System. NPCA feels strongly in favor of a ban, as they can cause irreparable damage to park resources and can be an obnoxious nuisance to visitors and harassment to wildlife. Unfortunately, the "NO" votes are winning >thus far - we've got to make a strong showing to counter these while the poll is still up.
