Re: RC: Re: Breed bashing

Excellent! Tamara
And I agree with you to a point. However, I still have to believe that
some traits are found more in one breed than others. When it is farrier
time, I find myself wishing I had quarter horses---not that my horses
are bad, but just so bright that they are easily bored. QH are also
bright--- perhaps they contemplate the wonders of the universe and
meaning of life while mine contemplate how to make me notice them even
more.
I've often said that the difference between a QH and an Arab is that you
ride your QH to Sunday brunch, tie him to the hitching post, and go in
for a leisurely meal only to return to find your friend patiently
waiting in the same position you left him.
I ride my Arab to a brunch and the first thing he does is look around
for a plaything (or a deadly weapon he can cut himself with), ask me if
I really expect him to just twiddle his thumbs in the sun while I go in
there and feed my face, looks at his watch and asks me just how long
I'll be in there, and BTW what do I expect him to do in the interim?! I
thank the heavens if I even find him in the same neighborhood, let alone
still tied to the hitching post upon my return!!!

I've learned that life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer it
gets to the end, the faster it goes. Smell the roses!
