Re: Equine dentist vs Vet?
Definitely a dentist. My vets hate doing teeth. It is one of those lets
hurry up and get it over with kind of jobs. My equine dentist loves her job
and takes it quite seriously. I have my competition horses/mules done
twice a year and my youngsters checked twice a year. My yearling filly was
very head shy last summer. No apparent reason. She had gone from a pocket
nuzzler to avoiding us. I had a sneaky suspicion that it was her teeth
cutting into her cheeks. I was right. They were like rasor blades. "ALL"
of my equines age 1 thru 19 get checked twice a year. Not all of them need
to be done, but, at least I will have peace of mind and if there is some
sort of problem with one of them, at least I can rule out hurting teeth.
