Sorry folks, but horses do not belong at the fire, at the registration table, next to the pot luck table, or anyplace else people are sitting, working, or especially eating. Many a cowboy got cussed, maybe thrashed, or even fired, for bringing a horse too close to the cook's fire, and if he was up wind with dust blowing into the food it was even worse. Flame all you want guys, but if you bring your horse to my ride registration table, You will be asked to come back without . If you lead or ride next to my chair at the fire I am likely to speak sharply to you. If you bring your horse to my supper table, expect you don't want to hear most of what I might say. People who bring horses too close to any of these activities are both very rude and inconsiderate, but it also can be dangerous. I don't care how nice your horse is, the potential is there for a spook or even just a careless move by horse or person. Seen too many wrecks over the years, from just simple things that wouldn't have happened had a tiny bit of courtesy been used. None of us mind a bit of horse poop either, but not in the dining area please. Call me the crabby old gal raised around a bunch of very polite cowboys, but don't expect me to welcome your pony to my table. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
