Camping/Tent

OK, I have a question regarding this issue. Yes, I agree
sitting around the campfire is great. You get to meet some
really nice people and hear some great stories. Now,
Phoenix and I haven't done much camping -- OK, the Holiday
Inn is roughing it :-)

But, how many of you bring your horse down to the
gathering? I know, it is a weird question but Phoenix would
rather be with me than tied to the trailer all alone. A
prime example, a couple of years ago he got loose at a
ride. When the person brought the unidentified horse to the
campfire and I had the embarrasing pleasure of claiming he
was mine...he didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay...he
wants to be with humans if he can't be with other horses.
Now granted, Phoenix and I spend a lot of quality time
together in our backyard during the summers, sometimes even
winter :-) So he is very used to hanging out with humans
and being part of the social gathering. He attends everyone
of my backyard bar-b-ques, the guests have gotten used to
him :-) He is always polite, he returns to his shed to
answer natures call. He runs loose in my unfenced backyard,
under supervision, and loves everyone petting him and
feeding him carrots. So when we get to a ride, he figures
it is backyard time and that he should be allowed to join
in. Has anyone ever brought their horse to the campfire?
And if I did, would y'all hate me for it? I just hate
leaving him tied to the trailer all by himself.

Diane & Phoenix (Mom, I promise not to poop if I can stay
with you)
