Possums

<<I realize that I am defending a not-so-popular cause, as opossums have
gotten a bad rap in life anyway (it's the TAIL!).>>

I had a possum that came up to the back door of my suburban townhouse
for two or three years and hung out with a stray Himalayan cat I was
looking after. I could always tell when the possum had arrived because
of the characteristic scrabbling sound he made with his little paws in
the food dish. He stood in it while eating the cat food with his snouty
little nose. I often saw the Himalayan and the possum hanging out
together, within a foot or so of each other, very peacefully (always at
night, of course). When I moved to the country, I adopted the Himalayan
and brought her along, sans possum, but it wasn't long before another
one showed up....hmmmm...
