tenting

The always looming potential disaster  associated with tenting it, is the ever present danger of being trampled to death by a herd of giant buffalo. It almost happened to Whitney and I at the Antelope Island ride.
The horses were freaking out so I crawlout of the tent and saw the black silhouettes of several HUGE buffalo grazing non-chalantly only feet from our little-bitty tent. My maternal instinct immediately took over(I had to protect Whitney!) so I grabbed one of the plastic electric fence post and  hurled it at the nearest silhouette...as it bounced harmlessly off his forehead, he grew several more inches..and right before charging and spearing me do death...he and his buddies decided it was time to amble off to the next camp where there were three hoses picketed to little stakes in the ground(not for long)!-
So if tenting it, check the proximity of the nearest herd of buffalo and take necessary precautions. (I think they sell buffalo stampede-proof tents at wall mart)
