Re: saddle pad question

Hi Y'all
I have a ZES endurance saddle which I just love, but I have a question about
saddle pads for it. It is the style which has pads attached to the tree,
similar to the ones on the Ortho Flex. You can take them completely off the
saddle, remove the pad portion and throw the fleece in the washer. However,
that is a real hassle to do frequently, and I like to wash whatever is next
to the horse's back pretty often.

So.... I have been trying to put something between the saddle and the horse.
If I use a standard woolback, but then it seems like TOO much padding - sort
of like riding with a tiny mattress under my saddle, and it seems to defeat
the great integral pad idea. Then only thing that I've found that works so
far is a thin Western cotton saddle blanket, but I'm not sure that's what I
want to put the miles on. Is there such a thing a a really skinny woolback?
I really do love the saddle, and so does my horse. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
 Pat
