Okay, this ride is held in the Western part of the state, around Boone, North 
Wilkesboro, Lenoir area, Phil Rash could give you exact directions.  He lurks 
and occasionally posts <g>.  All VC's were in camp last year.  Footing is 
real good, some gravel roads, forest trails, and some mountain trails (as I 
recall they can be a little rocky).  Terrain:  It's a tough ride!  I loved 
it, beautiful views, some really steep climbs, but also some room to roll.  
The entire community is "horsey", to buy land there, you have to agree to let 
the trails continue to cross it.  Everyone that lived there (or so it seemed) 
was somewhere out helping with the ride.  I have never seen so many support 
people, out with water, taking numbers, working the P & R area!  They were 
great!  
  And the awards!  For top ten Goat and I got a leather halter with brass 
plate, and an embroidered shirt.  Both were really nice, thanks Phil!  Plus 
you got T-shirt when you signed up.  Everyone who completed got something too.
  I'm definitely going back, one way or another.
