Horse eating trailers!

Help me all of you experienced horse people! You're my only hope!

I'm sitting here nursing several blisters on my hand, muscle aches and a sore heart while my poor mare is recovering from a egg sized bump over her right eye.  The bump was self inflictd (although I still feel awful) when I tried to load her into a trailer.  I knew she was somewhat hesitant before but this time she totally freaked out.  How can I help her overcome this fear?
I want to start LSD training so someday I'll get to particapate in the fun(?) and meet you people.
