Re: RC: more shoeing questions

>So throw some easyboots on, and go!

I love easyboots in the right situation. But, I'm in the land of sucky
red clay. Since his foot is so round, he has to have a 2 and the bulbs
stick *way* out the back. I've heard some say to just cut them off, but
I guess since I've done a few 50's and nothing seemed to go inside the
way they are, I was afraid to change. Seems like if the back was cut
off, stuff could stick up between the heel strap and his heel.

Also, they're not cheap. If I shoe him underneath, then I'm sort of
paying twice. Fortunately, at least he's never lost one. Also, I've
liked being able to put them on "for the rocky loop" and back off "for
the river crossing loop". If I do all that stuff you do, (foam, vet
wrap, etc) that's too much trouble to take them on and off. Also, if I
bend the cleets like you do, they don't work any more for a "quick spare
tire". I'm still thinking about it though.

Anybody know how they rate for absorbing concussion? Seems like they'd
be better than a Shock Tamer. Any tests?

Angie
