Arlene's accident

With the advent of the coming millenium we wish all of you a pleasant and
prosperous New Year with many more to come.

Arlene is well on the road to recovery, albeit with many newly discovered
aches and pains. The cast came off the broken left arm on Thursday and she
needs only a sling for the next month. She will however set off the metal
detectors at the airport from now on. The metal plate in her arm is about 6
inches long!

The neck will require the wearing of the cervical collar for the next month
but as of now there is no anticipated surgery requirements. The ribs will
continue to hurt until the healing is complete and she will have to live
with them.

We thank all of you for your support and messages of encouragement. She is
looking forward to riding in March and will see many of you on the trail
this summer.
