Youngest Entry is from Montana

Heather Stevens is the youngest entrant in the 2005 Presidents Cup Race which will start in 12 hours! She joins Carlo Di Battista and Enrico Ercoli to form a trio of young riders - the next generaion of international endurance!

She is 16 and a Junior at Powder River County District High School in Broadus, Montana.

She is active in Cheerleading, Speech, Drama and 4-H.

Hobbies include riding and hunting (as seen the photo of her and her mule deer buck this year).

She currently has 1165 endurance miles.

She placed 2nd overall at the Region 6 AHA Championship (1st Purebred) in June at Fort Howes and took BC. She has placed 4th in the AHA National 100 Mile Championship in Manitoba this July and placed 18th at the Arabian Nights 100 mile FEI ride in Idaho in August. All of these on RSA Count LaQuen.

"Heather is really excited to be there...She is especially impressed with all the fast cars that she is seeing. Unfortunately (or would that be fortunately) in Montana you mainly see pick-ups...not too many European makes on these highways." according to her mother, Jan Stevens.

Hether will ride Alyia from Shiekha Madiya's Stable. This is the horse which had been arranged for her 120km Juniors ride and everyone agrees that 160km should be fine. We'll see. More on this remarkable young lady as the race unfolds!
